Shanker Iyer is the Founder and Chairman of Iyer Practice Advisers, a specialist advisory firm with offices in Singapore and Hong Kong. He has been working in Singapore as a Chartered Accountant for almost 30 years. He is currently the Chairman of the International Fiscal Association (Singapore Branch) and the Singapore International Chamber of Commerce's (SICC) Tax Policy Committee. He is the immediate past president of SICC. 

Prior to these appointments, Mr Iyer served as President of both the European and British Chambers of Commerce in Singapore. He was also previously a member of the Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore Taxpayer Feedback Panel, and a Partner of the major UK accounting firm Moores Rowland for over 10 years.

In January 2002, Mr Iyer was awarded an Order of the British Empire (OBE) by the Queen of England for his services to British commercial interests in Singapore.

With extensive experience spanning almost four decades, My Iyer has built an expertise in advising privately-held businesses and high-net-worth individuals on a wide range of international tax and trust matters. He has also contributed several articles to business and financial magazines and is a regular speaker at tax conferences and courses held in different countries.

Mr Iyer qualified as a Chartered Accountant in London in 1973.
