Labuan, 18 May 2023 – Labuan Financial Services Authority (FSA) has experienced a cybersecurity incident which affected its online systems on Thursday, 27 April 2023.

Labuan FSA took immediate actions to secure the systems against unauthorised access, notified the relevant authorities, and engaged Mandiant, leading global cybersecurity experts to work-round-the clock with our ICT team as well as application vendors to conduct a thorough investigation of the security incident.

At present, Labuan FSA is working to ascertain the full impact of the incident to our systems. As a safety precaution, we have temporarily taken certain operational systems offline to prevent exposure to further risks, while maintaining operations to continue to support our customers with minimal disruptions.

The resolution of the incident will take time and Labuan FSA apologises for the disruption to our services. As we have more to share, we will provide additional details.
