20 October 2014 Labuan - The highly anticipated Labuan FSA Day 2014, a corporate social responsibility programme organized by the Labuan FSA, ended with success last weekend with about 2,000 people participated in the event. The money raised from the event will be donated to charitable organisations.
The Labuan FSA Day provides the platform for the Authority to fulfill its corporate social responsibility in a fun-filled day, is becoming a must-attend event for the Labuan community. This year, the event themed Wellness or “SIHAT” was held on 18 October 2014 at the Labuan International Sea Sports Complex and was officiated by YB Datuk Rozman Hj. Isli, Member of Parliament of Labuan.
During the day, many exciting activities were organized including treasure hunt, the main highlight of the event, has attracted about 400 participants. Mini run as well as drawing and colouring contest were customized for the school children aimed to inculcate the spirit of sportsmanship and enhance the children’s creativity in art. Several activities that involved the general public were also organized such as cupcake competition, car boot sales, charity car wash and public run. In line with the “wellness” theme, Labuan FSA has also arranged for a talk by a nutritionist from Jabatan Kesihatan to educate the public on the “Healthy Living and Eating Habits” along with the health screenings as well as reflexology and acupuncture services offered to the public.
The Labuan FSA Day, in its second consecutive year, has attracted participants from Labuan and its vicinity states of Sabah and Sarawak representing government agencies, corporates, financial institutions, institutes of higher learning and individuals.
Labuan FSA believes that the annual event is a way to gather the community to enjoy all the fun activities and to give back to the society, particularly the less privileged.
